3rd of Chinese New Year

The Third Day of New Year.
My family and I got dressed to go out for breakfast but unfortunately, there were no Chinese kopitiams or cafes open. In the end, we ended up in Bombay Masala *I hope I spelled it right*, a place selling Indian-Muslim cuisine. I have been eating too much curry as the Chinese don't open their shops during the few first days of New Year but the Malays and Indians do.
So what do Malays and Indians eat?
Usually hot, spicy food
That means I have to bear with it. Curry tastes good when you eat it in normal portions, not consumed three to six times a day. After finishing the not-very-tasty roti canai, we headed home. Time for lunch with Uncle and Aunty Yap at noon. Vegetarian.
Here begins "the starting to rush" part. In the busy kitchen with my mother, suddenly somebody rang and called me. It was Brina. There was a lot of giggling behind and laughing though which sounded rather fishy. She asked me if they could come over now as they saw a car outside so I said it was alright. I rushed to the kitchen to cut the cakes as actually, I didn't think anybody was coming. 5 minutes later, somebody rings the doorbell. I have to run out again and I saw.... guess who? Clarissa, Amy, Evelyn, Audrey, Chloe and Brina. It was such a surprise
Luckily, the cakes were already cut and placed in the living room. We chatted and ate keropok plus other tidbits until they had to leave. Then, Aunt Lucy came with her daughter, which wasn't too bad considering only a few people came. I knew some more unexpected people were bound to show up. My neighbour came with her kids then tiba-tiba, a whole group of people who were her relatives came over, which meant rushing in and out again. At the end of it, I was so exhausted and tired. But I bet my mother had it tougher.
During late evening, Sharon and Martha came. We watched American Idol! and ate keropok also. The keropok very laku. As usual, there were always some weirdos, awkward singing, mental breakdowns and some very talented people throughout the show. They had to leave at the ending of the show though as Sharon's parents were already waiting outside.
Time to bunk into bed.
